About the artist
I was born and raised in Richmond, Nelson/Whakatū, NZ Aotearoa in 1977.
As a child I worked in my fathers workshop learning saw sharpening, machining and motor repairs. As a teenager I began a Cabinet Making apprenticeship, which I completed in my early twenties. Soon after this I went into commercial and residential Building and in 2003 started my own company.
After a few short years delivering high end residential projects I became restless to learn further, so enrolled at Victoria University in 2010 for a Design Innovation degree specialising in Culture+Context with Philosophy as a minor.
University study really rocketed my passion for art, and I began to blend my trade skills into this to create objects and sculpture that interested me. This has grown into public furniture, set design and build, creative problem solving, and institutional art handling/installing.
There’s still so much yet to achieve and experience, so keep an eye open, this story is still being created. 'A life well lived is the most exquisite work of art' - Erwin Raphael McManus
